Working on Writing - Publishing Choice Writing

The writing is called publish your choice writing.  It was fun to publish a story!  -Sofia

In our writer`s notebook we are doing something where you draw a circle (brainstorm) and think about what you will write about. –Tashina

In writer’s workshop we are publishing our choice writing! My piece is about……….Me!! I can’t wait till we get to edit! –Jess

In writer’s notebook Ronelle, Sam, Katie and Lauren are doing persuasive writing.  Ronelle is pools vs lakes; Lauren is ringette vs hockey; Sam is sketching vs carbons; Katie is bikes vs cars!  Writing is so much fun! –Ronelle

In writer’s notebook there is one group that is practicing persuasive writing because that is their goal. Me, Ronelle, Katie and Sam are doing persuasive writing, my topics are ringette over hockey. –Lauren

In writing we have this new system where if you don’t know how to spell a word then you put a ----- there and if you have an interesting word that you can find a better word for you put a ~~~~~~~~~. –Ally

In our writer`s notebooks some of us are doing persuasive writing.  Which wants someone to pick something over another. –Katie

In writer’s notebook my story is about gummy worm gummy bears. –Eric C

In writer’s notebook we are making a book.  Mine is called the Talking Juice Box it is pretty fun. –Maddox

We made up titles and mine was called the secret garden. When we use the wrong spelling we underline it with a line.  When we do wow words we do a squiggly line. –Heidi

In writer’s notebook, we are working on a story and if you think you spelt something wrong, you use a straight line underneath.  If you write a word you think you could use a better word for, you use a squiggly line. –Derek

Right now in work on writing we are doing choice writing and working on our goals. My story is about a crazy vacation. –Frances

Book Clubs

For this book club I was director.  Last time I was map maker. –Tashina

I had fun with reading and doing my job because every job was really easy for me. –Khang

My book club is Sideways Stories.  My members are me, Sofia, Ally, Katie, Cecilia and Maddox!  I love my book because it is funny! –Jessica

We have started book clubs!  We have had three meetings so far and it’s great!  My book is Double Fudge. –Frances

For book clubs there is a word wizard, connector, question and director, illustrator and massage matcher and map maker.  You can only do every job once.  There are four books you got to choose from.  I am doing Sideways Stories. –Katie
