Art Flowers


For this project I got to pick one flower out of a bunch.  Then we focussed really hard on them to draw them. –Tashina
We sketched flowers in art.  First we sketched then sharpie, then erased the pencil and then coloured it. – Aden
I really like the art we did because we used pastels, also we got to copy a real flower. –Sofia
We got a flower and we got to choose it.  I took my time and it was pink.  I used as much detail as I could.  It looks identical.  We also got to put extra leaves to fill up the page. – Ronelle
I had so much fun!  We had to pick a flower (a real one) and sketch it on a nice big piece of paper.  First with pencil, second with Sharpie, third erase pencil and fourth use pastel. – Lauren
For this project we got a choice for where we wanted to sit.  I sat by the whiteboard.  I did a pink Gerbera Daisy. –Frances
For art flowers you picked a flower and drew it as good as possible.  First you do it in pencil, then in Sharpie.  Then you erase the pencil and use pastels to colour it.  We also did this with our learning buddies. –Katie
When we did art flowers, I epically failed, it looked like a lollipop. –Derek
My flower’s name was Gerbera Daisy, so we tried to copy it. –Khang

Yesterday I did my flower.  It is called a Lily!  Me and Sam did them!  Mine looks bad but Sam’s looks really pretty.  First we drew it, then Sharpied, then we erased the pencil lines and then we used pastels. –Jessica

Math Board Games

My math board game is a picture of a whale.  I had a big gap so I added another whale.  I made a game board at home too! –Katie
We did math game boards!  My picture is of a pretty fairy.  I watched the show!  I already finished my game board and it’s laminated! –Jessica

We made math board games.  We photocopied a picture and then traced it and made it into a board game. –Aden
The math board game was something new to do for me so it was interesting! –Sofia
We got to look on the internet for a picture and put tissue paper over top of it and we used Sharpie.  Then, on another piece of paper, we Sharpied over top of it. You’re done!  Mine’s a turquoise zebra! –Ronelle
For our fabulous, fun game boards, we had to find a good, simple picture on the internet and mine was a giraffe.  We had to put tissue paper on top of it and trace, then retrace with Sharpie and then color, draw your path and…done! –Lauren

New Math Centres







In math we are learning times, place values and decimals. –Tashina
At first it was hard doing place value but then it’s so easy! –Sofia

We are learning x’s place value, decimals and fractions. They are so fun once you get the hang of it! –Ronelle
Soon, we’ll be having a math test for multiplication with a 3 digit number x a 2 digit number.  We’ve been practicing a lot.  We have also started adding numbers with decimals. –Lauren

Presenting Clay Habitats




Mask Painting

For mask painting we copied a plan sheet and we got working. - Stacy

While we were painting our masks we had to think of the colours we needed and how to add detail. - Sam

For mask painting we had to plan it on a sheet first then paint the whole thing.  They are going on the bulletin board in the hallway. - Cecilia

I painted my Pharaoh purple and gold.  It`s going on the bulletin board. - Kaelan

My mask had stuff from Mine Craft like diamond ore! - Ethan

4 peoples mask will go on the bulletin board at a time, and they will change every 2 days. - Mitchell

For my mask all I used was silver.  Grade 3`s did Pharaohs and 4`s did Inukshuks. - Eric D.

We just got to paint them and mine was amazing!!!  Fantastic!!!  Because it actually looked really real. - Derek

We are done our masks so we painted them and I used lots of brown. - Frances

For our mask painting we put 4 outside the door to look at and every 2 days we rotate them! - Katie

Presenting the Social Studies Projects on Egypt and Canada`s North

I already presented and visited.  First I visited people and then people came to me.  My first person was Ronelle! –Jessica
When I went visiting, I went to everyone but one. –Rhian
For presenting I was a visitor.  My first presenter was Sofia.  She was number 3. We followed the numbers to know who to go to next. –Tashina
We finally got to present our socials studies North and Egypt.  When I was presenting after my throat was so sore. –Ronelle
In social studies when I was presenting my throat was getting sore from talking so much. –Lauren
For social studies presenting you need a number! –Dante
For social studies visiting we did 11 or 9 people. –Stacy
We are done our projects!  When we were presenting we for numbers and then we got to present it! –Frances
We presented our social studies.  I did a project about the North West Territories. –Aden

I listened to everyone and they were all detailed like mine. –Khang
You had the choice of a brochure, book, poster or Prezi.  Then we presented and you had to do it over like 8 times.  Half the class was presenting and the other half was visiting. –Katie
Our social studies presentations were fun but it took a long time to make it.  We used a lot of computer lab time. –Maddox
We had a choice of a Prezi, a book, a poster, or a brochure as a final project and that’s all.  We presented and I have a book that I presented 10 times! –Ally
For social studies presenting we got to visit and present.  First I presented because I was the only person who wanted to do a poster. –Cecilia
In social studies presenting I did Egypt and I did it on Prezi. –Eric C.
My social studies presenting was about the Yukon.  It is freezing there! – Ethan
It turned out fantastic!  Everyone did a great job and now I know a lot, I mean A LOT of facts! –Sam
I did a brochure.  We got to present them and go around and write stuff on kind compliments. –Heidi
My social studies presentation was on Prezi.  I’m doing a Prezi at home too. –Kaelan

Making Bug Boxes


For bug boxes we went to another school and built our bug boxes. –Rhian
For a field trip we went to Kildonan East School to make bug boxes.  Then we got to hammer nails! – Tashina
We went on a field trip and we made bug boxes. –Aden
Bug boxes – it was cool to build something!  We built bug boxes and at first I did not know what it was. – Sofia
We went to K.E. to build bog house and we get to decorate them. –Ronelle
Right now our bug boxes are sitting stacked up on top of each other on the small white table.  We went to a high school to do it which my Mom and Mrs. Kosolowski went to! –Lauren
For bug boxes we went to K. E. (aka-Kildonan East)!  I was in Mrs. Oddy’s group.  We always took turns just to be fair!  I only remember some people that were in my group. –Jessica
For bug boxes, you needed a partner. –Dante
We went to Mr. Janz’s workshop and made bug boxes with a partner.  We will soon be putting stuff in it so the bugs won’t die.  I liked hammering because I was good at it! –Katie
We all went to a work shop and built a cool house for bugs! –Khang
When we went to Kildonan East School, we were making bug boxes.  I worked as a team with Maddox to get my bug box done. –Ally
